I am Bettie Meadows currently residing in Columbus, Ohio with my little miniature poodle, Rory. The majority of my life has been one of championing social justice issues and working in the field of cognitive disabilities, especially in the field of developmental disabilities, initially as an instructor and later as an administrator.
In the last five (5) years I have had an overwhelming desire to write and reach out to people via the written word. I began writing devotionals and inspirational messages sending them out to family and friends daily. Fortunately, requests began pouring in to have the messages sent to their friends and family and from there it has blossomed. Little did I know a ministry was about to be born.
While attending Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee as the age of seventeen (17) and the first person of color, I was left with a penetrating truth.
That truth is that all people are created equal and have the same value in God’s eyes, and just because other people choose not to see your worth does not make you any less valuable. For this reason and others I have embarked upon a mission to bring a message of hope to all people.
I dedicate This Moment of Truth to my parents Birt and Ollie Mae Meadows who instilled in me a love for the word and a great sense of self worth and value, my brother Joe who was always my greatest cheerleader, my sister Ollie and brother Rudy who have always been by my side, my nieces and nephews, my many friends, and all the morning devotionals partners who supported me on my journey as you read my devotionals for the last 5 years. To all of you I am beyond grateful. A deep gratitude to my reading audience for reading This Moment of Truth.
Respectfully, Bettie Meadows
